Speaker: Robin Downing, DVM, DB, MSB, DAAPM, DACVSMR, CVPP
Dr. Downing is Hospital Director of The Downing Center for Animal Pain Management, LLC. She has received many regional, national, and international awards including the Leo K. Bustad Companion Animal Veterinarian of the Year in 2020. She earned her MS in bioethics at Union Graduate College and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 2016 and completed her Doctorate in Bioethics at Loyola in 2022. She is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, a Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner, and she was the third veterinarian in the world to earn the Diplomate credential in the American Academy of Pain Management. She was a founder of the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management and is deeply involved in the Fear Free movement in veterinary medicine. Dr. Downing is working to translate the principles and practices of clinical bioethics for application within clinical veterinary practice and forging a path to serve human patients at the end-of-life.
